Chylde Tarrante was born in Yew, to a warm and loving family, Her father, James Tarrante,
was a woodsman, and her mother Amanda was a baker. Chylde's two sisters, Milanna and Rannye, also
lived in the small cottage-- but since Chylde was the youngest, she received most of the attention.
When Chylde was only 12 years old, however, her mother died. Amanda had always believed that Resurrection was wrong, so her husband let her rest in peace. Chylde felt that this was ridiculous, and when her father wouldn't budge on the subject, she ran away from home. It would be years before she forgave her father.
In the interim, she lived in nearby Britain. She soon learned that a young girl with no skills could not survive in the big city, so she joined the Thieves Guild. The Guild taught her to hide and pick pockets, skills that Chylde quickly excelled at.
As the years passed, Chylde cames to understand the wisdom of her father's decision to leave her mother undisturbed. She also grew tired of preying on other people for her livelihood. Determined to turn over a new leaf, the girl-- now a young woman-- bought a house near Yew and rejoined her family.
Chylde has, in recent years, tried her hand at everything from treasure hunting to real estate. In short, she will do almost anything if the price is right, even if it means bending the rules. Since she has joined the Masters of the Rune, however, the influence of her best friend, Raiden, has softened her considerably... these days, she prefers a legal thrill to an illegal one.
